Happy Longest Night to all my followers!

This is a particularly special Yule for Talas and I; it marks nine years of Talas’ service to the Old Man (Odin) and we’re trying something new, too.  Wednesday is His, fittingly.
And then for Thursday, the astronomical Yule, Graveyard Dirt has issued the Holy Supper challenge and we’re planning on participating.  We’ll be making Dutch and Irish vegan food to eat, and we have a new photo-shrine to our Beloved Dead to go up, too.
Friday is Mother Night for those of us in the Northern Tradition — a night sacred to Frigga, Frau Holle and the disir (female ancestors), a night that has been very powerful and intense for me since we lived in Canada.  I like to honour all the mother goddesses as well as the spirits of my female ancestors of both blood and heart on Mother Night.  Perhaps next year, inspired by Miss Dirty, I’ll challenge people to join me and extend their Holy Supper revelry a little bit longer!
Saturday is Christmas Eve, and it’s our own tradition that on Christmas Eve, I make the big vegan Christmas dinner — and enough food to last until Boxing Day at least.  A seitan roast (stuffed with the chestnuts I cramped my hand processing yesterday!), sausage and apple stuffing, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, parsnips and carrots a la my grandmother, home made cranberry sauce a la Nigella Lawson, probably some sort of sweet potatoes, gravy — the works.  Wine, dessert (which we’re still deciding upon!) and food-coma revelry.
Sunday, Christmas Day, will mark The Second Annual Pái Family Pajama Christmas.  We buy each other a new pair of pajamas, a new sweater and new slippers and spend the whole day lazing around in aforementioned pajamas and eating leftovers.  Leftovers are always kind of the best part of Christmas dinner anyway, so we decided that having them for actual Christmas was the most relaxing way to do it.
And then Monday’s Boxing Day and… I don’t think we actually have any plans for Boxing Day.  Whew!
